Leaf spring question

Is there a way to tell which factory size I need? (52"/56")
My truck has no factory stickers left on it and I know for a fact that the rear leafs have been changed because I did it. Then like a dumb dumb, I chucked the old springs because the PO had heated them to lower the truck rendering them junk. So I went to a junk yard and picked some up used not thinking about measuring them. Right now I have 56" springs but I want to put brand new springs on and am not sure which size.
I guess another question is, what size (52/56) and how many (3/1, 4/1, so on) did my truck come with. 1979 c10 shorty custom deluxe.

The number of leafs can vary I think 4 to 8 plus overload. You can tell which ones by measuring the spring (52" will have same front and rear of axle and the 56 will be 4" longer on the rear than front. You will see the sets of holes on the rear of the frame. There is both sets of holes for each spring. Here is a pic of my frame. I moved the hangers to use 52" before I removed the 56". You can see the holes in the old position

If thats the case thanks. That helps right away. The only other issue is figuring out if I should run the 1290 (3/1) or 1950 (4/1). I installed a flip kit and it sits a bit lower than expected LOL. So Im trying to get a tad bit of lift back.

Actually same here. I did a flip on mine. It was heavy half. It had the 8 leaf and overload but one was broken so I removed same spring on the other side. I was going to match the front drop to the rear maybe this pic will show something that will help you out. I think I can get away without a C notch

Ya you have lots of room by the looks of it. Must be that 7/1 set up. The leafs I put in two years ago started as 8/1s. I took them apart, cleaned, and reassembled as a 6/1 but I think they are just to flat and worn. And stiff enough already so Im not adding more back haha. Thats why I want new. Thinking Im gonna go 1950 4/1 springs. 3/1s scare me a little with any sort of power. My bud has 3/1s and a mild 350 that gets axle wrap when you punch it even at freeway speeds.
