Weight question
Does anyone have a rough idea of the weight of an 8 ft fleetside bed? I am getting my project aligned and it will not have the bed on yet. My thinking is that if I don't add some weight to the rear axle the alignment could be off.
Thanks in advance for the help. |

Re: Weight question
What year, series, engine and drive are you asking about?

Re: Weight question
From the Heritage site -
C10 Series - CS10934 - Front 2168 Rear 1531 Total 3699 CE10934 - Front 2280 Rear 1546 Total 3826 I'm waiting on plates for my truck but intend to weigh it within the next week so I have a before conversion weight to compare to post conversion. I can post up the numbers once I have them if you like for comparison. It is 4WD though so it will be a bit heavier than yours. For reference - K10 Series - KS10934 - Front 2454 Rear 1649 Total 4103 KE10934 - Front 2571 Rear 1664 Total 4235 I'm curious to see how close those numbers are to the reality.

Re: Weight question
Yes I have the total weight, I was trying to find out just the weight of the bed. So I can add that weight when I have it aligned, thanks though

Re: Weight question
Ahh I see.
Unfortunately I'm weeks away from taking my bed off but if you don't have your answer by then I'll post up what it weighs.

Re: Weight question
I recently changed the bed on my 72 GMC, A friend of mine helped me and the 2 of us were able to take off the old bed and later put the new on one. My guess as to weight of the bed is somewhere about 200 Lbs

Re: Weight question
I have my bed off now, 72 K10 long bed and it's right at 200-220. That figure is without the gate on.
