70 4speed clutch to newer block?
I need to replace the engine in my 70 c20. I was thinking of getting a reman or new vortec motor and installing a carb on it. I know I need a new flywheel and harmonic balancer for the 1 piece rear main crank. Will the clutch bolt up to that flywheel? What clutch do I order? I think I have the SM465.
Thanks! |

The clutch should bolt up. Just make sure you get a one piece rear main seal flywheel that is drilled for the 12" clutch which should be what was in front of the SM465. Just order a replacement clutch for your year truck.

Awesome thanks! I was hoping the pressure plate would bolt up. Do I need a special Pilot as well?

I don't think GM made any changes to the pilot bushing, but you will find that out!
