Re: 50 gmc lamp sockets
the bulb sockets are actually part of the dash wiring harness, the bulb goes in the socket and they push into the backs of the gauges. you can find an old chopped harness and get the bulb sockets from it, I am not sure if replacement harnesses come with the sockets but I would suppose so.

you can take the connector out, open up the crimp, and crimp or solder a new wire on.

Re: 50 gmc lamp sockets
I have used these to repair the wiring in sockets at times but I think this one is for a larger diameter bulb. https://www.napaonline.com/napa/en/p/LIT9102/LIT9102
The wiring on my 48 was terrible when I bought it in 1973 with a lot of bare wires under the dash. I replaced some wires and still had a few bonfires under there.
