Blazer/Jimmy Tub Bracing
Since it is such a common topic around here - requesting pictures of methods used to brace up your blazer tub when removing it from the frame.
I have heard of everything from green metal garden stakes, to angle iron, to an adjustable set that has all-thread to allow for tweaking of the firewall/A-pillar. Post up pictures of what you have used, where your anchor points were and even measurements if you have them. Thanks. |

Re: Blazer/Jimmy Tub Bracing
So do you brace the tub so it doesn't get out of alignment when you move it around?

Re: Blazer/Jimmy Tub Bracing
Yes to the question about bracing it so it stays aligned when moving.
These things are flimsy when they are off the frame - it only gets worse when they are rusty in the floors/rockers/torsion boxes, etc. |

Re: Blazer/Jimmy Tub Bracing
I just used an angle iron from a bed frame across the door openings, using the exsiting holes for the hinges and latch, thats all you need really. Any adjusting that needs to be done once its back on the frame can be done with shims under the body mounts. Its hard to see in the picture but if you get a bed frame angle iron, you use the piece that the headboard bolts to, to attach to the latch side and just drill a couple holes for attaching on the hinge side
