Door jam switches stripped
The switches or the sheet metal for both doors is stripped. I'm guessing this is a common occurrence. Any ideas how to tighten these up? Small wire should do it, but there might be a better option. Thanks

Re: Door jam switches stripped
Just last week I had a customers truck with the same scenario. I welded up the hole, redrilled and ran a tap through it

Re: Door jam switches stripped
The only other way is to drill it out larger and use a Heli-coil to restore the thread size. Doubt you see the insert under the jamb switch.

Re: Door jam switches stripped
I drilled the hole to 7/16 (3/8 is stock), and threaded the inside of a copper sleeve, screwed the switch into the sleeve, and then twisted it into the hole. Been working that way for a could years, works fine
