Steering column swap
Can I swap a 1969 C10 3 on the tree steering column into my 65 C10? The 69 looks to have an intermediate shaft with a swivel joint before the gearbox. Can I just swap out? I plan to do the power steering upgrade at the same time. The 69 appears to have a collapsible shaft for safety instead of the solid steering shaft. My current 3 on the tree steering column has some issues, I'd rather swap out for the collapsible shaft unit.

Re: Steering column swap
Yes. I put a floor shift column from a 69 into my 64. You'll have to match up/splice the coum wires to match with your harness.
You can look in my build thread on what I did with mine.

Re: Steering column swap
I picked up a column shift from a 1971, will this work to keep my 3 speed on the tree for my 65 c10? Want to make sure before I tear into it.

Re: Steering column swap
It probably will as long as you got all the pieces. I have not see anyone use a 3OT column swap, but it should work since all the others do.
