The Toy Box
Well after 2 years of "discussions" with the Township, ground breaking has begun !!!!
Wanted a 40*60*14 but was "allowed" a 32*48*12'6, guess it will do....

Re: The Toy Box
Looking good ,I have been trying to find someone to build me a 30x60 building for 2 years and cant find anyone who wants to build it .I may have to start with a large pole barn and just finish it myself.

Re: The Toy Box
Very nice! Too bad you couldn't build what you want. No HOA, must be other restricting regulations.
Anyway, congratulations on getting started on your building. |

Re: The Toy Box
I've had the idea for a long time if the city/township restricted the height of the building, go as tall as the outside would allow and drive DOWN into a slightly sunken garage floor??
Other than water wanting to run down inside the garage i think it would get the results of a taller ceiling inside a shorter outside building! A local firm built a house that potentially blocked a lake view. The city said the building couldn't be taller than "X". So the slick builders brought in fill and raised up the site elevation and then built the house to the said "X" height. I discussed this finished house that was the talk of the town because it blocked the pretty view with my civil engineer friend. How could that be i asked him? His response was "That's the difference between HEIGHT and ELEVATION" |

Been plugging away at floor prep this week. I have got the vapor barrier down and the majority of the insulation. Been getting the floor drains and electric conduct installed also a few extra stub ins for future use........the pex tubing for the radiant heat system is scheduled to go down Monday........I will be so happy when I'm done digging holes.......ugh..

Re: The Toy Box
Looking good, curious as to what that insulation is.
Pex is going on top of insulation and then being poured over?

I'm pretty sure this will be a heated concrete floor.

Re: The Toy Box
Very nice new building! This will be so sweet when you're done. If you are putting in heat in the floor, try to put in studs or markers for a hoist and equipment if you have an idea where you'll be putting them. You probably are aware of that though.

Re: The Toy Box
The insulation is 2" Foamular 250, it goes under the floor and the heat tubes on top of it. The pits for the lift along with all in floor items is VERY well documented for future reference......
