Does anyone know what is a good size for window setting tape that works. I bought some from Classic Industries and it way to tight glass will not fit in channel I know it the correct size glass measured against old glass and it is about 1/4 inch thick.

it needs to be tight as only the rubber holds the glass in going down the road
i remember hammering it in with a 2x4 and a clamp
many times i thought it would break

Try getting some from a local Old school glass shop that has been around so long the dust in the corners has dust on it.

You could probably take your glass and the channel to the glass shop and have it set up right for about the same as the cost of getting a short length of glass tape + getting it shipped to you buying it online.

Steel Rubber Products has it in 1/32 and 1/16 thickness at $3.20 or $3.40 per foot. You might be able to judge which you need by how much space there is between the glass and bare channel.

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
