Think I should do it?
Been thinking about this 66 c30 for awhile now and not sure if I should do it..custom can big window. 327 in it all new brakes, and wrecker flat bed. Has some rust in the floor and needs some wiring stuff taken care of. Thought it would be a cool little rat rod or something what do you guys think? I can get it for 1000

Re: Think I should do it?
If it was a choice, I would do the wrecker, but both would be good.

Re: Think I should do it?
It's a toss up really between that and this 63 long bed, isn't running right now and needs brakes worked on

Re: Think I should do it?
Well i don't know if I can do both. What separates the two is that the 66 runs and drives custom and bbw with a lot of the work already done

Re: Think I should do it?
Does the C30 have leafs in the rear or is it trailing arms with springs? Not a factory dually I'm assuming, according to the non budd wheel up front. It did have the optional reverse lights on it at one time. The reverse switch adapter is still there.
I'd take the 63 over the 66 any day.

Re: Think I should do it?
It was bought as cab and chassis and made into a wrecker. Has all the tow truck components but not sure if I'll take them or not. Not sure on what do to do on them yet.

Re: Think I should do it?
Do what you'll enjoy most! If starting from the ground up is what you'll find most rewarding, go for the 63. If you're looking for a "work in progress" that you can drive around until you figure out what you want, go for the 66. Ultimately you will make either truck your own, and that's what it's all about!

Re: Think I should do it?
I had a 64 c30 that was bought new with can and chassis and the owner put a winch bed on it and pto and it had the 17 in rims on it or maybe 17.5 I don't remember what the options were. But I can't decide between the two, may end up with both.

Re: Think I should do it?
I vote for the 66 c 30. Turn it into big block 5th wheel puller or trade the flat bed for a fleetside, lose the duallies for super single with full width tub across the bed floor.
