R4 compressor on small block image needed.

I'm having an odd alignment problem. I have a 86 305, replaced the frozen factory Harrison with a new, not rebuilt, from Napa and I can't seem to get the belt to line up right. I also can not get all three of the rear mounting bolts lined up at the same time. If someone could snap a pic from the drivers side that shows both the mounting brackets and share that would be great. Hopefully that will tell me if I've done something wrong, or its the compressor. Thanks.

One of these two views is what I'm looking for

It's hard to see in this picture, but the compressor is "tilting" backwards and the belt is at an angle to the water pump. The compressor needs to be moved towards the front of the truck, as well as the top needs to be clocked a few degrees forward.

This was the setup on my 83 C20 5.7
Looks like a spacer is missing at the rear bracket, also belt looks too long, should have more slot travel to tighten.

Those pictures help, thank you. There is a spacer there but its not as wide as the one in yours. It is what was on there with the original compressor. I am going to try to get a shorter belt also.

Do you still have the old compressor?

Re: R4 compressor on small block image needed.

Lesson learned. I never give up my core til my car has been running for a good while. I understand funds can get in the way. I gave away a very valuable carb once and didn't realize til it was too late.

Yes I do. When I change out the hoses I'm going to compare them side by side.
