67-72 cross member on my 62 C-10
Hey all,
I am having problems figuring out which way the pitman arm needs to be mounted on my P/S box. The box is from a 78 c-10. I have tried hooking up the tie rod ends, idler arm and the drag link. If I put the pitman arm on so that it points toward the cab, it makes the angles for the drag link rub against the front of the cross member. If I have the pitman arm pointing to the front of the truck it places the drag link about 8 inches away from the cross member and the tie rod ends are at a sharp angle...like about 45 degrees. Does the drag link need to be removed and then flipped so that it sits a little further away from the cross member? If someone has a good photo of how their setup is configured it would be most appreciated. I have the steering box in the correct position according to what I have read and the reference photos I have seen for the 62 conversion. |

Figured it out....I had my idler arm mounted 2 inches too far rearward. Problem solved.
