Tilt front and water?

My tilt front end will be here in 3 weeks.
I have read everything I can get my hands on here and other places.
None seem to have inner fenders.
What are the folks with tilt front ends doing about water on the roads?
Pics would be very helpful if there is a solution to the water...
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Tilt front and water?

I just went to Goodguys last weekend and seen one of our trucks with a tilt hood that had the front fenders cut thru the wheel arch so the rear of the fender stayed bolted to the cab, it looked like he utilized the stock fender wells and just cut them in the same area so the rear part stayed with the cab and the rest tilted with the hood and fenders.. I didn't get a pic but if ya google "67-72 tilt hood" it shows about 5 thread here on this forum, if ya click images it shows some examples of other tilts cut thru the wheel arch like what i saw at the event.

Re: Tilt front and water?

The last I looked the fiberglass tilt front ends were competition ones. That means thin and prone to cracking and breakage so I doubt many run them on street trucks. That may be why you don't see many with inner fenders, those that do street drive them probably do so on a limited basis.

Re: Tilt front and water?

The fiberglass front ends come in street OR race versions.
Lots of folks run them on the street.
I am trying to take a look at what folks who drive them on wet streets do about the water.
I know several folks have split the inner fenders to keep most of the water off the motor.
The front end is in transit this minute and I am looking to see what options are out there.
Thanks,
Dave
