Help: Steering Wheel Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Does anyone know how to readjust your steering wheel. Mine is off by about 90 degrees. I see that you can't adjust it by just removing it and turning it because the steering wheel is set to only go on the spline one way. So just wondered if anyone knew. Oh, by the way, I know it aligned correctly so that's not the problem. Thanks.

dont feel bad bro, I have the same problem....
I thought an allignment would fix it...
But I have not tried that yet....
I wish I knew...
Hopefully we both can get some answers on that one!!

adlignment will do the trick. 90% of alignment shops automatically set it so the wheel is straight

Had my aligned. The mechnic said that he couldn't straighten the wheel. I don't know if he really knew what he was doing though, he was used to working on VWs. However, I've heard there is an adjustment that can be made down by the Pittman arm? Anyone know?

Centering the wheel is done by adjusting the tie rod ends. He didn't know what he was doing. There is not adjustment at the Pitman arm as it only goes on one way too.
