My 72' C10 SPID Window RPO Option #

I sure do learn a lot from you guys here about our rigs.
Well I'm getting excited and close for my body work/paint on my 72 C10.
I'm in the process of deconstruction, bagging/labeling and ordering more parts that I still need for completing the final assembly.
I currently have a rear slider window which I believe is not factory, maybe dealer installed or after market by P.O. (not on my SPID) that I will be replacing with a solid back window.
My questions are about tinted (light green tint) and non tinted (clear) window glass.
My SPID shows that I have tinted windows (code A11) with the factory 4 season air conditioning, but all my windows are not tinted.
Is it true that all GM cars and trucks with factory air came with tinted windows?
I was told you can always tell an air conditioned GM vehicle because they always have tinted windows. Yes?, No?

An informative link I stumbled upon about the 1967 to 1972 C10 SPID's option codes. http://outintheshop.com/options.html
On this site it shows the following for glass options:
A02 : TINTED WINDSHIELD
A03 : TINTED SIDE WINDOWS
A08 : RH SIDE BODY GLASS
A09 : SIDE DOOR WINDOW GLASS
A10 : PANORAMIC CAB
A11 : TINTED GLASS
The A11 on my SPID is the only code pertaining to the glass.
Previous owners may have contributed to changes from the original glass?

Thanks again for any explanations.
Sam

All glass should be tinted green.

i do not believe the tint is at all related to air in these trucks. like cypressbog said, with A11 all windows would be tinted green and will have "soft-ray" in one bottom corner. my guess is all your non-green windows will be some other aftermarket brand.

I've had a/c trucks that didn't have tinted windows. It was a standalone option for any pickup

1) Are you certain your glass isn't tinted? Factory tinted glass isn't as dark as what we see on cars today.
2) How do you know the glass in your truck is the same glass it came with originally?

Re: My 72' C10 SPID Window RPO Option #

Thank you gentlemen for your answers.
I learn something new every day.
It must be a very light tint and it just looks clear to me.
By the way....I'm not color blind .
I'm pretty sure my 44 year old truck has at least the original side glass in it.
Can I distinguish original glass by the markings/labels that are etched or printed into the corners of the wings, door glass and windshield?
Was there a specific glass supplier to all GM factories building our trucks?

I am going to see Frank this Saturday for some needed parts
I'll see some of his trucks and parts and I betcha I can compare my windows about the factory tint option.
Have a great weekend.

Re: My 72' C10 SPID Window RPO Option #

I went and visited Frank from Pickmup trucks today.
He confirmed that I do have the original Softray tinted glass in my C10.
Thank you Frank!
As I have said before I learn something new everyday.
Frank answered a bunch of my questions relating to my truck restoration and parts needed.
Thanks to everyone else who chimed in.

As far as I know A/C trucks got LOF Soft Ray. It makes sense, doesn't it? If that's not the case, I have never seen one without. The soft ray is a stand alone option available with or without.

Re: My 72' C10 SPID Window RPO Option #

I know in cars the tint was available separately - I have a '69 Pontiac with full tint all around from the factory but no AC. It's a weirdly optioned car (like no convenience options but every available trim and lighting option).
