Capping 1/8" Oil Pressure Gauge Line

I'm starting the break down my '72 C10 truck for body and paint work.

I plan to drive the truck onto a car trailer for transport.
With my dash cluster removed, is a 1/8" brass pipe thread cap the only and proper method to prevent oil leakage during these short run periods?

I need to locate / purchase the proper cap to avoid damage to the brass line fitting and of course, not make a mess.
Just wanna make sure.

Just remove the brass fitting from the back of the block and put an 1/8 inch pipe plug in it's place. There is no cap or plug made that will work on the line fittings unless you can find an old gauge that will work. If you have an extra stock oil pressure gauge laying around you can just screw the line into it and lay it in the cluster opening.

you will need to cap it like LockDoc said. You can just remove the line thru the firewall and cap it where the union is, easier than going to the block in this case, IMO.

Find a bolt that fits and use pipe dope or 1/8npt pipe plug as previously stated.

Otherwise your gonna have a mess if you start the truck!

It seems odd that a cap for the compression fitting to the gauge isnt available.
Searching past threads I found this photo of the fittings and it sure looks like the threads are different between the block and the gauge ends.
So just to clarify the only line plug available is on the block end just below the dizzy on my 350 small block?

I purchased a plug cap for the engine block side of the oil pressure line.
Using a correct opened end flared wrench I am unable to budge and break free the female compression fitting on the rear engine block location.
It looks like there is a riser fitting ? from engine block that the other compression line fitting attaches to.
Not wanting to damage anything, any tips to get it broken free.
PB Blaster and a little heat?
I might be leaning to just getting a used Oil Gauge for a temporary plug behind the dash during the restoration process.

I just caught the oil in an oil pan by my feet in the cab, while I was moving the truck around with the cluster removed.
