Front Coil Springs ??
Do the front coil springs have a Index'able place in the top a-arm for the top pig tail, do they have to be installed in a particular manner in how they fit/installed?

Re: Front Coil Springs ??
I'm pretty sure the top spring pocket in the cross member locates the wrap of the spring in position as well as the lower A arm. Some one will correct me if I'm wrong
When I got my 68 someone had cut the front springs and when I would go around a corner you could her the spring moving in the pocket. Sproing!!!

I was thinking of getting 2" drop springs from POL and maybe after seeing what it did and if I don't like it I always could cut a coil for an extra 1' or so. I guess I am not flowing/understanding what you said about turning corners and having a noise (sproing) sound, you did say the lower A-arm has a slot/pocket that seats the coil in its place without needing to be indexed from above right?? |

Re: Front Coil Springs ??
What I meant about the spring is that without that coil on the top of the spring it was moving around in the pocket cause it wasn't located properly. It would make that sound when it moved I didn't have a sway bar on the truck at the time and she would really lean in the corners.
You don't want to cut the coil to lower the truck, you'll have to get another length spring. Yeah about that quote, I got that from an old guy when I was a lot younger, 69 now, and I'm still trying to fill that tool box. From what other guys have posted I'm sure there is both a pocket on top and on the lower A arm.

Re: Front Coil Springs ??
I forget if this is looking up or down, but it appears that one side does have a notch for the pigtail. Probably the top.

Re: Front Coil Springs ??
On my 72, I put the bottom in place on the arm, and as I
raised the a-arm, the top just kind of popped into place on its own. When I looked, it was where it belongs. Both sides went like that.
