Saddle tanks for 72 gmc

Does anybody know if a factory 1973 and newer fuel tank will fit between the box and frame rails on a 67-72 gmc 1500.

Re: Saddle tanks for 72 gmc

I think the space is too small / short. The cab corner and back wall of the cab is designed different as well. I have a 71 that has aftermarket saddle tanks on each side and the dealer installed stainless doors in the bedsides I'd offer them to you for free but they are rusted through where they contacted the cross sills under the bed. The add on tanks were very popular on these trucks

I had a set of those in my 71 and they were rusted through also. I just thought if the 73 and up tanks might fit it would be a cheap way to get the tank out of the cab so I can use the space for storage. I thought a guy could bring the filler up in the front corner of the box somehow. But if they won't fit I guess that idea is out.

These might work but they're in Colorado and shipping would be a killer. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=715637

Thanks for the offer but I took a set of those out. Mine were rusted out. I thought the doors were unsightly.
