1954 GMC 100 front spring rear hanger is loose...
Folks,
I pulled my leaf springs today and found out that the rear spring hangers (that are riveted to the frame) are loose enough to rattle. Since the rear bushings are egged out a bit, I'm guessing that they hangers shouldn't be wiggling around and that I need to remove the rivets and replace them with grade 8 hardware...Does anyone have a different idea? thanks Greg |

Nope, total loss, better let me take it off your hands.
Seriously, I had to replace a couple of the cast shackle brackets on my 59 and used G8 bolts and nuts and it worked fine. Just make sure you get a good tight fit. I used fine thread bolts and self locking nuts.
