building a mule
Hello all,
some of you guys have seen a bit of my truck project in another thread that i started by asking a couple of questions and after some great advice ive started to move foward on what i hope will be a fun buld/restore of a 64 k10. The truck was purchased from a friend of the family in nw montana about 2 months ago. its previous life was staight up ranch truck. it was parked in the spot i dug it out of back in 1994. |

Re: building a mule
Great truck. Classic how they parked it and just used it for storage bin. I assume it quit running for some reason? Sounds like you got a steal on those motors. To be honest though, I think I'd be pretty excited about building that original 327.

Re: building a mule
from what i can find the 327 was not available in 64 so im not really too concerned about keeping it original i may just drop the 350 in and sell the 400 and 327

Re: building a mule
when i removed the windshield i found the outer and inner roof was rotted through
not good but the upside is i found a good cab just down the road from my place the guy pulled the cab and loaded it on my trailer for 500 bucks its nearly perfect except the place where the rockers meet the floor |

so here are some pics of the "new rear end and front end they came out of a 76ish 1/2 ton not sure what they are but i got just about everthing that was attached to them brake booster and power steering included but i didnt get the cross member off the front end. i may be able to go back and get it if i need it. does any body know what they are for sure im asuming the rear is a corp. 10 bolt not sure about the front probably the same? |
