One extra part?
Just finished putting in power disc brakes on my 57 3100. We ended up with one extra part that we can't figure out where it belongs. It is about 14 inches long . I have attached a pic. All help is appreciated. Everything does seem to be working right without it but hate to have something go wrong.

Re: One extra part?
Looks like a brake pedal return spring. I have one on my 52 that runs from the brake pedal towards the front of the truck to a bracket located on the chassis side rail.

Re: One extra part?
Pretty sure that is your Emergency Brake Spring that mounts underneath the Cab at the frame and for the cable mechanism.

Re: One extra part?
my 57 pedal return spring is not near that long. However, the spring on the park brake draw bar is that long or close to it.

Re: One extra part?
it could be the ebrake spring. look at this pdf and look at pages 327,339 and 343. it might help shed some light.
