Wanted nice original 72 outter grill shell-Maryland

I am looking for a clean original 71-72 outter grill shell. I am hoping to find something near Maryland to avoid shipping. Does anyone have anything local?

Thanks in advance,
Ray

Outter grill shell? You mean the trim around the center grill? Anyway, not sure if this is what you mean but I remember seeing this on craigslist...

https://baltimore.craigslist.org/pts/5763116079.html

Even if that's not what you are looking for it may be worth getting a hold of him to see if he has what you want.

Re: Wanted nice original 72 outter grill shell-Maryland

Ray, I have 3 or 4 nice ones in NJ. I'm just really busy working, and they are put away in storage trailer. I can get them out and post pics, but it won't be quick? Priced $150-$250

I would be interested in a real nice one. Let me know when you get a chance. How far are you from Baltimore?

Thank you,
Ray

Are you looking for good shine or just dent free? I have a couple but they will all need polishing.

Richard

Hi Richard, I definitely am looking for a ding/dent free shell. The one that you have, would it clean up?

Thank you,
Ray

I have 3 or 4 of them in dent free condition or very close to dent free. All of them have the weathered look to them though and would need polished. It is real difficult to get good pictures but I am posting a few here for you to get an idea but if you get over to the Salisbury Area (eastern Shore) it would probably be best for you to look at them in person.

The 1st 4 pics are all the same grill and still on the longhorn. Passenger side vertical has two very minor dings and the driver side has 4 scratches that I tried to show in the pics. with a little fine sanding and polish it will come up nicely

Re: Wanted nice original 72 outter grill shell-Maryland

this one is off the other longhorn and I think is dent free. I have some things in the way at the moment preventing me from getting it down for closer inspection. sand and polish would do wonders.

I couldn't help but notice the 69-70 grill in the pic you posted. Would it be for sale also, and if so what would the shipping to 73003 be for it?

Thanks,
Charles.

Re: Wanted nice original 72 outter grill shell-Maryland

First of three used grills. 3 small imperfections as shown circled, would need to be polished. $150. Will get pics of the other 2 next week.
Ray, I might also have one nos? Forgot I had it. Bought 3 grills about 15 yrs ago from a closed parts place in LI NY. One in GM box, 2 loose. I have one left, I'll get close-up pics to compare to used ones. Chevys don't have part # stamped on them like GMC. Any tell-tale things to look for on NOS pc?

Re: Wanted nice original 72 outter grill shell-Maryland

Harry, let me know once you can get the pictures of the others. Not sure what to look for on GM Nos piece. Maybe compare it next to one of the orginals.

Thanks and Let me know,
Ray

Re: Wanted nice original 72 outter grill shell-Maryland

I have 1 last NOS outer shell for 71-72 if nothing used will work for you....not cheap tho-$1500 plus the ride. I've posted one before @ $1400 and it sold locally so my last one I'm willing to let go at $1500. Still in the GM box and in perfect NOS condition! It's only brand new once....
