'85 washer pump getting 12v but won't run?
Hello,
I just got my replacement washer fluid reservoir pump and plugged it in to test. When activating my washer pump from the steering column switch, the pump does not fire. I checked the voltage and it's getting 12v, I assume it's a switched ground? Any idea where to start looking? When activating the washer fluid switch, the wiper motors work fine, but the motor refuses to fire. |

Re: '85 washer pump getting 12v but won't run?
After fiddling with it some more, I'm only getting around 8v, if I test the positive with a chassis ground (not the ground on the washer motor plug) I get 12v. Any ideas?

Still trying to figure this out. I believe the ground on the washer pump plug is bad (as I'm only getting 8v vs. 12v using a chassis ground. Where is the ground located for the washer pump? Where should I be looking?

The ground is through the mounting bolts for the wiper motor.
And yes, it is ground switched. Alex. |
