door differences
what is the difference in the different year model doors, my driver side door has a small recessed hole right below the window what year did it come off of and what is it for

The resessed screw and hole beneath the vent is a 1972 model door. This was done late in the production as a way of re- enforcing the door better and to stop some of the rattles. A lot of the early doors have a re-enforcement piece that holds the outside and inside door skins togrether that is down inside the window channel near the vent assembly these seem to break and in turn the doors would spread apart and cause poor seals for the windows. This extra enforcement was engineered to help stop this piece from breaking. That they way it was explained to me
