Re: rear sport bumper bracket pic

The bracket on the inside goes straight back and the one on the outside is at about a 45 degree angle. Are you sure you have the back brackets and not the front ones, they are different.

Not just front and back are different. There are at least 2 different sets of rear brackets. One set fits all longbed 2wds and shortbeds with coils. The other set fits all 4wds and shortbeds with leafs.

At least that's what the counter guy told me when I bought mine a few days ago.

On my 2wd longbed with coils, there were 2 bolts per side, and the holes were already there. Same holes as the stock step bumper.

BTW, don't tighten any bolts until you get them all started ( including on the bumper ) or they won't line up.

where did you order new brackets from?

I took this bumper off a 2wd longbox but it does have two holes lining up on each side of the 4wd frame it looks like it will work. but I may just have to order new brackets...

Re: rear sport bumper bracket pic

Here are mine. The brackets sandwich the frame with the inner a bit longer with two holes. I had no help, so I eased mine up with a floor jack and got it mounted after restoring things.
