I need advice about my 8 foot bed
So my brother in law has a clean 1997 6 foot stepside bed he wants to put on my 1971 Chevy Cheyenne 8 foot long box. He wants to cut the end frame and center it over the wheels. Then he wants to build a tool box in the empty space between the bed and the cab.
Im wondering if anyone has done this before. Also, I am considering trading the 97 bed for an 8 foot 67-72 bed. My 8 foot bed is roached on the bottom and a lil banged up all the way around. Money is an issue so I would like to trade if anyone is interested. Thanks for all your advice.. John Last edited by Huston; 10-19-2016 at 02:26 PM. Reason: Add Picture |

Re: I need advice about my 8 foot bed
Like a 1997 square Utility service box or a 1997 fiberglass pickup bed?
Some people like it, I'm not one of them. If you could somehow make the wheel wells match it would be a huge improvement. There are fiberglass 67-72 fenders out there, but they're way too $ to cut up, you'd be better off buying a new repop shortbed box.
