Re: Wife gets to drive her truck!

There just has to be a story why your wife is drawn to these old trucks too right?

Her dad had one when she was little. She has said she wanted one since we got married 15 year ago. Of Corse she would have preferred a 72 but as long as it was in the 67-72 year range she would be happy. I found this 67 but the bed must have been off a 68 or up because it had markers so I just put new front finders on with lights as well.

I have everything working but the speedo. I have to come up with a speedo head.

Re: Wife gets to drive her truck!

Wow, a 10/11 month build? Truck looks great!!! Good job!

My 67 stepside was originally white... makes me kind of miss when it was white.

Re: Wife gets to drive her truck!

I was looking into doing the same for my wife. She'll drive my truck, or the C-30 I'll be getting in the future to work the farm.
You did a great job with her truck, but I think she'll already told you that.
What's amazing is time time you did the resto in.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Wife gets to drive her truck!

Thanks guys, I think I got my first full night sleep last night since I started the project. I'm not a very patient man.

Truck is driving ok but the 700r4 is shifting into overdrive really quick after hitting drive.... not sure what is going on there. I'm not a trany guy.

Also speedo head is working but the speedo gear in the tail shaft has to big of a square hole for the cable and I can just spin the gear with small screwdriver which makes me believe it might be stripped. Does that sound right to you guys.

Anyone know any pointers on the overdrive dill?

Re: Wife gets to drive her truck!

You can get a line pressure gauge to check the pressure, if i remember right it only 2 or 3 psi higher hooked up at idle in park I used bowtie overdrives for my info and linkage.

Re: Wife gets to drive her truck!

We drove it about 200 miles this weekend, trany is shifting good now. speedo is working...... but I can hear it clicking in the dash..... Installed arm rest, black lettering to the tailgate, adjusted the brakes again. Sure is fun to drive!
