Blazer frame questions
Ive got a 89 k5 with a bent frame I've been doing some research and I keep getting that they were bad to bend at any kind of abuse or off road use ive looked at a few replacements couple was bent also one was really rusty one a guy was asking to much ive got a suburban frame from a late 80s 3/4 any one ever cut a suburban frame to fit a blazer body on or should I keep looking for a blazer frame and reinforce it to make it survive the abuse of off road

Re: Blazer frame questions
I've never heard anyone say K5 frames are prone to bend. I know the ladder design of the frame will twist and flex. Where did it bend?

Re: Blazer frame questions
Mine bent at the front spring shackle mount but it looks like it may have been bent in front of the rear spring mount you can see where it was straightened and it has a piece of metal welded on the inside ive looked at a couple frame that was bent and one was bent in front where mines bent and one was bent in the back the guy's I talked to said where the are so short and heavy that it to much for the frame and it over flex the weak spots and bends them he acts like it was a common problem with them
