Trans swap help

I have a '71 c10 with the th350 auto. Reverse is going out and it can't decide going 50+mph weather it wants to be in 3rd or 2nd. So I'm just gonna get a new trans. I'm wanting to get a nv3500 5 speed. Is there anyone out there who has done this that could give some helpful tips on the swap?

Re: Trans swap help

If reverse is out then third is going with it (Direct Clutch)

What rear gear? 3.08:1? That would be terrible with a manual trans.

I can't help much on the NV3500 swap. Is the shifter going to be too far back? Are you going to use a hydraulic clutch?

I'm pretty sure it has 4.11's or 4.56's I know that in third, going 60-65 I run about 4500 rpm. And yes, I plan on getting a hydraulic clutch.

Not very much help, I need to add a master cylinder, pedal, everything I need that an auto isn't set up for, plus the article in mention is on a t5, not nv3500
