My truck is in the final stages of rust repair on the interior and I'm wondering if I should disassemble the clutch and brake pedal assembly for powder coating, or replace it with an aftermarket assembly. I found a set by wilwood and a set by kugel, both in the $250 range. My plan is to put an automatic trans in for the next few years, but eventually put in an LS motor with 5 speed and a hydraulic clutch -so I want the ability to add the clutch at some point. Has anyone used an aftermarket pedal assembly? Whats the pros and cons?

I would love to see what the legroom would be. I'm 5'8" and I feel cramped in my cab with the pedal position, they're so far "out" from the floor!

The gas pedal is nice, but you have to lift your leg for the brake/clutch. Would be nice if you could just slide your feet over like newer rides.

I installed the gas pedal last year. I then bought the pedal covers for the brake and e brake.

Not sure how much I like the other one but the wilwood stuff is sexy. I wonder what kind of job installation would be on our lumpy, bumpy firewalls. It was a bit of a bugger just mounting a hydraulic clutch master - there just isn't much flat available real estate.

I installed the Lokar gas pedal like Andy4639, the quality of the product is top notch.

Lokar also makes pedal arms for the factory location. The Wilwood and Kugel parts listed by the OP both require considerable fabrication, so they're not the best option for the guy building it in a home garage. However, if you've got the the shop, tools, material, and know-how, the Wilwood is a great option.

The Lokar pedals are bolt in. They have the clutch pedal also.
I thought really hard on swapping to them but after seeing the covers I went that route. + I only had a week before the Power Tour started.

It's hard to say because I also replaced the seat at the same time. I think all-in-all I have more leg room. But it's probably a combination of the two I'm guessing. If anything they look awesome and function properly.

I don't think they do. The arms are the same overall shape and size as stock. I wound up doing the lokar gas pedal to convert to cable and adding the matching pads to the stock arms.

When I added power brakes I made up my own connecting rod from the pedal to the firewall linkage and got my brake pedal to be similar height to the gas pedal. Then I made my own clutch linkage and got the clutch pedal a couple inches closer to the floor. It helped quite a bit.
