1980's k10 restored prices
I see a lot of restored k10's going for 17-20k or higher. Mostly at different places (ebay,craigslist,ect.). Are those realistic prices? I know it depends on how the vehicles were before the frame on or off restoration, and what kind of motor ect, ect. It still seems high to me though?? I'd like to pick one up for 12-15k honestly. Love to hear everyone's thoughts, thanks guys.

Re: 1980's k10 restored prices
Personally I prefer a nice original over a restored truck. You just don't know what kind of work was done during the restoration unless you were there.
If you buy a nice rust free low mileage original between 10k-12k, you can ride it, enjoy it, and if you want it perfect then you can restore it later. Or just sell it later for nearly what you paid for it to begin with and you basically drove it for free for a few years. I've done this a few times and it's worked for me. |

Re: 1980's k10 restored prices
last year I bought a rolling short fleet frame motor and driveline.. I built the truck and painted it also installing a stepside bed this was a basic 2wd 3 on tree truck I was able to sell it for $5000 basically cobbled together without much effort I would say you can get between 7-10K for a really good condition one

Re: 1980's k10 restored prices
I was looking through some of them for sale on the internet. Seen one for $16,800, not that I could afford it, but I got to looking at the pics and it was all original with 8200 actual miles. You can always dream I guess, man it was nice though.

Re: 1980's k10 restored prices
K10 are pretty high right now. I have a 80 K10 Lwb that has 21k all original but the paint on the hood and roof, AC line and the muffler snd tailpipe. I had it on ebay a couple time and it never got to the reserve. I remember 10 years ago you could get a mint one for 8k now 12-15 is the average. I have been gathering NOS parts to do a frame up on my crew v3500 and I promise you that you can't do a frame up with great paint for 12-14. I turned down 17k for the blue one this summer it's my 4yr boys truck.

Yep these trucks are getting up there! I'm basically hoarding the last of my nice 73-80 NOS pieces for an 80 K20 GMC I plan to do soon too! The nice thing is the interior is mint and all of the hard to find GMC trim is in gorgeous original condition too-only needs polishing! The word has slowly gotten out on these trucks that's for sure!

Nice trucks man, love the blue one. I agree prices are getting out of hand for these trucks. I'll be in the market for a 3rd vehicle soon, and I'd like to pick up a nice restored 85 or 86 for 11-12k.

This is why I don't mind spending money on my 81, the value goes up not down. I have seen these trucks going for high teens value wise not even completely restored!
