Inner door parts help please!

I have a 68 C10 that needs vent windows and door glass replacement as well as some of the inner parts. My question is does anybody know if the splined shafts for the handles on the window regulators and door handle mechanisms on a 72 are longer than the 68 to 71's? The previous owner put what I think are 72 (plastic) door panels on it and the shafts the handles fit on are short and cause the handle to be too tight against the panel.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply! I guess all I need to know now is if the only difference between the 68-71 and 72 window regulators is the 1/2 inch longer shafts. If they're the same other than that I'll order 72 regulators.

Can anybody recommend which regulators to buy? They're probably all made by the same company but maybe not?

I would recommend Classic Parts of America in Kansas City, but since you'e in Canada shipping may kill you. I don't know who they are, but I've seen posts about reputable parts vendors in Canada. You might shoot a pm to Already Gone or some of the other Canadian board members.

Also swap out the philips svrews for hex head bolts. Take a screw with ya to your hardware store and buy a hamdful of bolts that are the roght size. Makes it easier ro repair in the later date

Re: Inner door parts help please!

Thanks everybody for the help. So can I assume the 68-71 regulators are the same as the 72 except for the shaft length? Things were much easier when I lived in California!!
