Re: Holley C10 Truck Toy Model
It's cool. But if you want me to pay that much for a replica I want the casting to be correct, not adapted from a 69-72.

Re: Holley C10 Truck Toy Model
Agree 100%! Looks like 71-72 truck and they just pulled the grill off and tried to make up the difference in the fenders, grill and headlights all in the pushed on grill. Don't get me started on the hood, it's a mess.

Re: Holley C10 Truck Toy Model
Here is a quick tour of the real one.
....I must say, I like the way they detailed the LS engine to look like an older big block. Way more interesting and attractive under the hood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_p6Jf5exuA8 all good Coley

Re: Holley C10 Truck Toy Model
Yeah, sorry to be Nay-say Nate right off the bat, but we've already discussed this replica on the "Our Stuff In Scale" message board. I've been a collector for a long time, since before diecast got big and someone decided bigger is better coming out with 1/18 scale. To me, the skill of modeling is in accurate miniaturization of the real thing. If you want to go bigger the detail and accuracy must increase as well. Things that don't matter in 1/64 scale really matter in 1/18... to me. And this ain't no 98 cent Hot Wheels. At this cost level it's an adult collectible, not a toy. I'd be adding this to my collection if it was done better. I'm disappointed not to since it's a rather iconic 67-72, and everything else looks pretty good. The only other 1/18 scale replica I have is their '72 with the "Eagle" Mod Bod graphics for being a good example of that special aspect of these trucks.
