Question Factory Cab Light Lense Availability

My '77 Silverado came with factory cab lights on top of the cab. I need to replace some of the lenses as they are cracked and allow water to get into the headliner.

Are these available new? I tried the Chevy dealer today, but the parts department is only open Mon-Fri. I'll check back with them on Monday, but thought someone here might know.

The covers are marked as follows:

Signal Stat
9069
SAE P1PC 71

Thanks,

You can find Signal Stat stuff at a 18-wheeler supply house or a heavy duty trailer supply house.
These are not GM items so I doubt the Chevy place would have them and if they did they would be waaay overpriced anyway.

Yes, you can still get them from the dealer. Part number 684662. They are not waaay overpriced either. List price is $9.18. Wholesale should be in the $7.00 to $8.00 range. GM Parts Direct sells them for $5.51, but the shipping my be high.

LMC Truck has them in their latest, fall 2003, catalogue as well (page 179). They list at 6.95 ea. You can order them on line at www.lmctruck.com . Unfortunately, they don't show their products on line, but you can get a free catalogue.

All in all, it sounds like the dealer may be your best bet.

Have fun!

$50 is not high for a few plastic lenses?

I still think they could be had cheaper at the places I listed.

Thanks for the tips guys.

I ordered them from GM Parts Direct and they came yesterday.

They were $5.51 each. I got 5 and shipping was $7.95 for a total of $35.50. That works out to $7.10 each after shipping.

I checked with the dealer and they wanted $16.50 each!!!

Does anyone know what the correct spacing is for these lights? I took mine off simply by pulling up on them becuase the metal underneith them was all rotted out, now I'm not too sure how they are suppost to sit up there.
