Transfer case question
Just found out I've got a cracked tail housing on my transfer case. Thought it was where it bolted up, but not that lucky. My truck is a 84 K10 and according to the tag, a 208. A friend says he has one but it's a 241C. Can anyone tell me what will interchange? He said alot of the Dodge transfer cases will interchange. Any help on this?

Re: Transfer case question
The 241C succeeded the 208 but was available in driver and passenger drop configuration. As far as tailhousing goes I think you're limited to one from a GM 208 only. The D*dge 208 has a different tailhousing than GM ones use.
Roughly on a 208 there is the rear case half with a rear tailhousing that accepts a slip yoke. On a 241 there is the rear case half, then a short section of housing where the tone ring or gear and sensor/pickup are for the speed and then the actual tailhousing that receives the slip yoke...incidentally this is why slip yoke eliminator kits exist for 241s and not 208s. The D*dge 208 has the rear case half and then a mid length tail with a bolt on yoke. Wouldn't be a bolt-in affair, would require different driveshafts/etc. (side note, I censor F*rd & D*dge because I find them vulgar )

Re: Transfer case question
