disc brake swap question
I just bought disc brakes off of a `71 1/2 ton and they gave me the a-arms too. are the ball joints the same for my 68 and the 71 or do I have to change them?

Not the same. You need to use '71-'72 ball joints.

Yes,
Just be careful removing the springs on your truck.

yes, the 71 a arms will bolt right on. The bottoms are different than your 68's , in the steer stop location, The top arms do not need to be changed(just bolt the later ball joints in). as far as bushings/shafts, if you feel any looseness at all , replace them. The good thing about the bushings on the 67-72s , is that if you keep them greased.......they are good for about a 1/4 million miles! most of the orig owners did not grease them tho..... crazyL
