NP241c Passenger vs Driver drop
Hey, Im LS swapping my truck (5.3/4L80e/np241) so I need VSS. But I have the mechanical speedo 241 and I need to convert it to VSS. Im having a hard time finding passenger drop 241 parts here in Sweden, plenty of driver drops tho.
So my question is, Will the driver drop speedometer housing fit on the passenger 241 or are the parts different?

Re: NP241c Passenger vs Driver drop
The rear housing will be indexed differently, I believe. Let me see what I've got laying around

b454rat: I've been googling like crazy to find anything about it, I think i've read it somewhere but I want to be sure before I buy extra parts.
kwmech: It would be sweet if you had the parts to compare

Re: NP241c Passenger vs Driver drop
This is an old picture I found.
The bottom left one is what you need I think. I will see if I can find a shaft picture https://cobratransmission.com/index....ort=20a&page=3 try this link (Picture caption)The two bottom housings are from NP241s. The housing on the bottom left is a standard GM version with a magnetic pickup for the speedometer; the other is a custom JB Conversions housing that fits a fixed-yoke kit onto an NP241. The housing at the upper left is used with the JB short-shaft kit for NP231 cases; the one on the upper right is a standard TJ housing.

Thanks for the link, they dont specify if it only fits pass or driver drop so I guess they'll fit both

Re: NP241c Passenger vs Driver drop
No problem. I think it is indexing. Good luck.

Re: NP241c Passenger vs Driver drop
The speed sensor needs to be perpendicular to the centerline of the output shaft.
