MII handling

Just looking for some opinions on the ride and handling on an MII style suspension.

I'm looking into upgrading my AD trucks frontend, but keeping leafs on the rear.

My only frame of reference was Grandma's LTD II. While the car rode great, it wallowed all over the place when maneuvering.

I know most recommend a 300 lb spring. I'm partial to a stiffer setup.

Any opinions/ experiences?

Honestly i would buy a ifs kit off http://nolimit.net/ hes a vendor on here and builds some really nice stuff.And the best part all of it is off the shelf parts so if you ever need a ball joint or tie rod end you don't have to pay a ton for a custom part.

Been reading the "make it handle" article. Seems like the setup and install have a lot to do with handling.

I'm not going for a pro street truck or a frame dragged. Just a good driver that can still be used as a truck. Looks like just about any kit out there will do. A little stiffer spring can be used, might have to cut a coil or two depending on ride height.

I know what you mean about springs. Over a period of a few years I've changed mine 4 times. Rather that go thru it, check out my build thread,http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=459839 starting on page 23 post #567. Then go to page 31 post # 756 on autocrossing. This is the first time for me autocrossing and I improved on each pass. I think coilovers and QA1 shocks is the best way to go, and will save you money over the long run...Jim
