Re: Good fitting black carpet???

Many retailers sell the carpet kits which are all made by the same manufacter. Mostly, it's a matter of finding your best deal. I got mine thru Rock Auto, and I went for the "mass backed" option which is a heavier plastic on the floor side of the carpet.
It wasn't a perfect fit, but it was pretty close. (Maybe it was the installer). Another tip I have is using a cheapie electric woodburner or soldering iron to make the holes for your seats and etc.

The Auto Custom Carpet sets fit better than the knock off ones I've installed in the past. I also use my soldering iron (knife tip) to cut the holes for the seat bolts, etc.

Re: Good fitting black carpet???

Just used Stock Interiors for the black carpet in my '63 - high hump. I too got the thicker mass backing. I also got the piece for where the gas tank used to be. Fast shipping. Overall Im very happy with the fit and noise reduction. X3 on the hot iron. I used an icepick and propane torch from under the truck.

Worked great. Id use them again.

Re: Good fitting black carpet???

I personally would recommend against using TrimParts molded carpet. Perhaps others have had better experiences but mine was not good. Here is more about my carpet and experience with this company.
