OEM Factory Assembly Manual vs. After market
Got a puzzle to solve, maybe you folks can help. I'm trying to reassembly my passenger side glass and door parts and know what order I need to do things, however the OEM shop manual shows the door latch lever is different position BUT the after market assembly manual shows a different drawing.
I also noticed for the first time that the OEM manual distinctly show the level(actuating rod) rotated different. See Pictures Below. On the OEM drivers door drawing, not the position of #17. On the OEM passenger door drawing, not the position of #17. Now note the Assembly manual drawing - ?? Which one is correct?

Re: OEM Factory Assembly Manual vs. After market
There could be a few reasons for that: could have been a running production change done after the engineering drawing was done, and the early manuals have the old drawing, and later factory manuals had the later drawing.
It was also common for manuals to be updated with Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that had new drawings. The initial drawings were done before the vehicle entered production. Once they were in production, sometimes drawings were wrong. A modern repro manual would probably have used the last version of the drawings... Or they just got lucky and copied a later version of an original manual.

Re: OEM Factory Assembly Manual vs. After market
The answer jbgroby is both are correct. Note the position of the door handle in your photos . Early trucks had the handle pointing down to pull back on the handle which was a little tight for your elbow to the seat. By flipping it and aiming the handle up toward the windshield or dash made it just a little more comfortable to operate . This change happened from what Im seeing around 62-63 but still most 62-63s are pointing down and some up. Theres probably a service bulletin out there on the change. Yours being an early truck should be aiming down like photo one .

Re: OEM Factory Assembly Manual vs. After market
The lock remote control will only work with the rod starting at the 12 o'clock position. There is not enough clearance at the bottom of the inner door opening to position the lock control at the 6 o'clock position. Plus, you would need to swap sides for the push/pull sequence.
