Hood hinge question
I have read every thread on the subject. If you have bought after market hood hinges and you are satisfied, could you please tell me where you bought them??? No info needed on how worthless they are and "you should buy original or used original". "Have yours rebuilt" etc...
Trying to keep this simple. Thanks in advance! |

Re: Hood hinge question
No experience on my end with the hinge replacement or rebuild. I have read more folks are happier with them rebuilt than aftermarket. Seems to be ONE real good rebuilder out there for old hinges, can't recall his name or site at the moment, does a lot of Chevelle work on their forums.
I had a real tough hinge to open/close on my '68 GMC and read where this guy recommended some spray called Deep Creep by Seafoam to use until you get them rebuilt. Doesn't fix the hinge but really makes it work better. I can lift my hood with a couple fingers now. |

Re: Hood hinge question
I'm using Ringbothers hood hinges on my '69 C10. They operate nice and smooth, no issues.

Re: Hood hinge question
Willie is his name and hinges is his game!
Guy's can say what they want about the billet hinges but when it comes to the originals Willie is the man! Billets are nice and all but if your truck is a driver then originals are fine. http://www.hoodhingerepair.com/

Re: Hood hinge question
I picked up a set of new repo ones and springs from the truck shop in orange. Put them on and they work perfect. No complaints except trying to install the spring. Guess I'm not as strong as I use to be.

Re: Hood hinge question
I have a stock set that are about to hit the trash can. You can have them if you want, just pay the shipping. They are off my 1967. I have Nates on mine now.
