Old school charger vs smart charger
Alright folks. I have a cheap smart charger and it is great. Problem is, if I leave the lights on or keys on well it sucks the battery all the way down to give me a fault on the smart charger and it will not charge. So I need to give it a little charge from my dads old school charger to get a couple volts in there to bring her back. So the question is. What is the best old school charger out there? Nothing to crazy I just need it to give me a boost

Re: Old school charger vs smart charger
Not sure about best but I bought an old school 10 amp type charger at Harbor Freight for about $25. It has a metal case and has worked out fine for me.

One like Edahal will do . One other thing you can do is use jumper cables from a good hot battery jumped to the dead battery and hook up the charger for a while . This will fool the charger into thinking there is sufficient voltage for it to charge . After the battery gets back to around 11 volts take the cables off and finish charging .
