Are 3 spd.stick column shift rods same for 6 vs V8 ??
Since the engine-trans is moved forward in a stock V8 application vs a 6 cylinder are the shifter rods that go from the column to the trans. different?
Possibly going from a six to small block in a '67 C10. Thanks, Steve weim55 Colorado |

Re: Are 3 spd.stick column shift rods same for 6 vs V8 ??
I cannot 100% say yes or no, but I do not believe they are different as the one mounting position that is changed are the front engine mounts, and for the Saginaw 3 Speed the only possible mounting for the bellhousing is in one place, which is fixed and cannot move. So my thinking tells me they would be the same.

The crossmember and bellhousing are both forward a few inches from a six application to a V8 so that moves the transmission forward as well. Thinking the rods might be a bit shorter?
