removin glue from gauge face plate
I picked up a gauge fase plate,the black one on the front,but someone had glue a overlay on it and I,m trying to figure out how to remove the glue without damaging the black texture on the panel. not my dash

I would start w/alcohol then WD40 then kerosene or diesel then petrol and last acetone. Careful w/ the acetone it can melt some plastics.
That's mildest solvent first and going from there. |

Wd40 and some brake cleaner , wd first and a quick clean up with the brake cleaner.

My 1986 came out with it factory, all I had to do was find a lose spot, and just slowly and gently start peeling it off. Never used any solvents, it had a couple of crusty spots from the glue, all I did was scratch it a little with my thumbnail, and it just flaked right off. I likes it so much, I even done the band that goes across the dash it turned out great. Good luck with it.

wd-40 seems to work the best but there are some spots where there is no texture on the face plate so have to figure out what to re paint the panel to give it that texture back
