Re: MY NEW 1969 GMC Custom Camper Sierra 2500

Very nice! I have a '70 GMC C2500 Custom Camper that I'm fond of in blue, it looks very close!

Anyone know what the practical difference between a Sierra and Sierra Grande at this level would be?

There was a few good threads on the subject, here's one. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...+grande&page=4 The thing to keep in mind, these trim names are year specific. In '69 the sierra and sierra grande was extra options to a trim package ( the deluxe, the custom, the super custom) by 1972, sierra and sierra grande was a complete trim package on its own.

That's a great looking truck to begin with. Can't wait to see how it ends up - your other projects have been quite impressive.

Re: MY NEW 1969 GMC Custom Camper Sierra 2500

Having driven and been driven in Kuwait, the owner will be facing a daunting challenge with this truck in Kuwait.
Driving a slower, 4 speed truck over there will create havoc on their highways as most do not have posted speed limits and the ones that do...the speeds are often ignored.
Driving over there is an adventure, and there are ALOT of very high end cars that aren't available here in the US that just plain FLY on those roadways.
I wish the new owner the very best.

Hello sir I am happy to respond. Roads in Kuwait is Sophisticated , the existence of radar and surveillance cameras by high speeds. There are lots and lots of expensive cars classic and new. Kuwait is a rich country and has an educated population and there is a lot of international festivals own cars

thank you

lol, ok, good luck anyways..

for as few miles as I was on the road and the light traffic density, I haven't seen worse driving anywhere else in the world that I have been out of approx 40 countries..

Sicily, Italy is a close tie with Busan, Korea for second.. not a straight piece of metal on anything on the road..

and this is only a fraction of the carnage I've seen on the roadside in Kuwait, just what I happened to see in time to snap a picture..

You'd really have to look up fatalities per road mile driven (which is the typical stat) to know. I don't know the answer, but total fatalities isn't it.

Very nice truck! I will be following what you do with it. Your other trucks have turned out beautiful. Question, are there many 67-72s in Kuwait? I've seen many pictures of trucks in the Middle East and they're always 73-87, and usually long bed step sides.

Like the others that have posted, I like your truck. Nicely optioned, with AC, undoubtedly a necessity in Kuwait.
