My Rendering
Finally got my rendering complete. Excellent guy to work with. Tell me what you think. Will finish the build when I get back home.
My build started over a year ago, had to put on hold for work. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=703568 |

Re: My Rendering
The rendering looks great, love the colour. I don't know about the US but that shade of grey is becoming really popular in the UK, especially on high end German cars. I can't wait to see it built

The color I requested is called Aston Martin Grey, but the designer did a mix between these two vehicles and I am hoping the shop can get this exact color. I get in country next week and plan to drag her into paint and body before I head back out. A pic of what she looks like now. A little work ahead of me on this one to get them to match....... Re: My Rendering
Love the wheels and the red pinstriping. And I LOVE the color. On my build I'm completely torn between classic yellow, or going more gunmetal and blacking some items out a bit.

Re: My Rendering
SF...I consider going with the Matte balk or Matte Grey, but got convinced when I got the image. You might have to put it on paper to get a feel of the look. Thanks Bro

Re: My Rendering
SF- Got you, I had three color combos and three wheel choices one each color to determine my best choice. It was a tuff choice. Here's a small snap shot for reference.

Re: My Rendering
PS what wheels are in your render? I really like them a lot.

Re: My Rendering
SF- Those are the US Mag Ramblers U-111, 18X8 and 18x9.5. I had the knocks added in the image, but is the same wheel on my Truck pic now.

Re: My Rendering
Definitely picked the best of the 3 IMO. That red pinstripping on the wheels with that grey sells it!
Rims on the middle render are nice too. If I end up going a darker color I'll probably also switch to a more contemporary wheel at some point. |

Re: My Rendering
I like the rendering idea I should of done that. I thought of doing the two tone paint but I was afraid it would make the cab look taller.

Re: My Rendering
Been a while since I post, but here's an update. This is my first build, and I admired the quality of work performed on this forum. Started in Sep 2015, and hope to finish in the next few months in time for Goodguys Lonestar Nationals in Ft Worth. I decided not to paint two tone for now. Finally got it assembled and scratched up (Geeezzz), ready for paint touch-up, wet sand and polish this weekend. My co-pilot likes the two tone look, as she stated why did you pay for the rendering if you won’t build it that way…….You know I didn’t have an answer for that one….hahaha. I had to adjust my vision, because at the time I could not quite match the color in the rendering so I went with my alternate color choice of (Dupont Pepper Grey). I am still debating on the black top (recommendations and opinions welcomed).
What's completed: 1. Paint (Dupont Pepper Grey Metallic 44490) - black top (Pending) 2. Smooth Dash and Firewall 3. Bed Wood (Pine sanded/Stained Old English Oak w/Stainless Polish Strips 4. Chrome Fuel Access Door - used an RV Access door 5. FatMat floor and back wall (80 mil) 6. Suspension (static 3/4 drop w/springs) 7. Dolphin Gauges Cluster w/Tach 8. Engine 350 TPI (90 Corvette w/6spd ZF Trans) - no LS at the moment used what I had (free) 9. Patriot Ceramic Mid Length Headers/ Jones Full Boar mufflers 2 1/2 in turned down at axle. 10. New Wiring Harness - American Autowire 21 circuit 11. US Mag Ramblers 18x8 frt 235/55, 18x9.5 rear 255/55 12. Steering column (CPP 32 in w/ Walnut wood steering wheel 13. Chrome grill, frt and rear bumpers 14. YOM Plates 15. 3 Core Aluminum Radiator 16. New Windshield 17. Captain Fab power steering bracket (71 power steering gear box) Remaining Items: 1. Redline Tires (245/40/18 frt and 275/40/18 rear) 2. Interior w/ Buckets and console (Pro Car or TMI) leaning towards ProCar classic for price 3. Wireless Bluetooth Audio and Speakers, amp, etc. 4. Black Top (Dupont Black Metallic 44435) - pending 5. 2.5 Drop spindle or CPP front Coilover system. This system just hit the market about a month ago. can use existing upper and lower arms as well. This will give me 5 1/2 drop in the front with 4 in drop in the rear for a better rake 6. Vintage Air system Last edited by Hop; 06-08-2018 at 11:05 AM. |
