GMC tailgate chrome trim & emblem
I have a chrome trim piece with the GMC emblem on it from a 82 GMC. I am unsure if it will fit all 73-87 trucks.
Email me for pics. Thought I would let you all have it before I put it on ebay. Tommy Davis

$20 and the ride.
I don't have a way to post pics here. You have to email me directly to get them. It does have a ding that can be straighted out to the left and bottom of the handle area. One side by the handle needs to be retacked up. And the black paint could be redone. The shipping I am estimating to be around $20. I am not sure without taking it to UPS and getting a exact. It does still have the GMC emblem on it. It also needs touch up paint. Tommy Davis

The big piece is chrome. The style they used on the tailgate of the silverados. This one came off a Sierra Classic. It is approx 7 1/2 inches x 66 1/2 inches. And the GMC logo is on the bottom left.

From what I have been told at many salvages, the trim pieces will fit any 73-87 tailgate as long as they have the indented in part.
The chevy emblem will be on the bottom right, and the GMC will be on the bottom left. The emblems can come off, chevy by 4 bolts on the back, and GMC by 3 on the back. Look on the back side of the tailgate, there will be 4 star screws there to remove the whole piece, 2 on each side. Tommy

Hmm... Get a picture of it, the tailgate I am getting has the indentations...
Any way of finding a dually tailgate with the clearance lights on it and installing them on the chrome peice like on the duallies?

Some time ago I had both tailgate trim panels, one from a GMC and a Chevy. Both were from the 81-87 vintage with the black border. I also had the 73-80 version that was on my 78 with just the black border trim on the top and bottom and open on each end. I may be mistaken, but I though one or the other was deeper in width and I tried fitting the 81-87 on my 78 tailgate and it didn't fit right. It was either the cavity of my tailgate wasn't deep enough or it was too shallow. I just can't remember, but it's just a thought that you might want to further investigate.
P.S. Shipping is more like $25 - $28 via FedEx Ground from Oregon to Texas based on the length vs. weight. Shipment to Canada will be much higher.

The only thing left is the chrome trim piece. Someone bought the emblem off of it.
It is now $15 and the ride. (UPS has quoted me on $15-$20 to ship. Depending on destination). There is one dent on it, and the chrome around the handle piece needs to be retacked on, and the back bracket on it does need a bit of straightening. All very easy work to do.
