1967 LWB small window long term project in NC

I have several trucks, but wanted to start an build thread on this one to track progress and get some advice. Picked up a new truck recently that I've been driving by for at least 15 years. Ended up getting a really good deal on it and I've been wanting a 67 or 68 for a while now. I'll be putting this truck to work so I was ok with a long bed and just want to get it running and drive it for a while before before making any real upgrades. Here are the pics. Anybody know what kind of camper this is?

I think it has a 327 but its not on the SPID, so it may have been added later. 3 speed trans and some homemade gauges. Truck wouldn't do anything with a battery and the old key was broken in the cylinder, so I borrowed an ignition cylinder from another truck and got it to turn over. Unclogged the fuel line pickup, drained old gas and put some fresh gas in and got fuel to the carb. New plugs, point, condenser, and removing some added wires for bypassing the ignition and she ran pretty good.

Brakes need to be gone through, but we got them to work bleeding them. Actually drove the truck from the farm to my house which was an hour away once it was tuned up a little and the worst tires were replaced. We were overconfident in doing so though and broke down twice with tire issues. Going to find some better ones soon, but its here now and I've been messing with CLR to see how much paint is left. Pretty obvious is wasn't going to have great results based on the amount of surface rust, but being dry and sheltered for so long did keep the rust from going very deep. It came off very easily, but so did most of the blue paint.

I think it better than being crusty and rusty though so i'll do the rest of the truck soon. Here are some pics before starting, after washing, and clr wash last. Gonna be very obvious how many primer colors the general used on this truck.

That pretty much brings it up to speed. Next on the list is a complete brake job, better tires, finish clr wash, and get it licensed and driving for Goodguys next month. The truck has the original rims and 235-75-15 tires, would a wider tire work? I like the original rims and hubcaps so drum brakes are going to hang around a while, but I would like a little more tire if it will fit. Also got a pic of the SPID below and expected to find more information on it. My 72 blazer has more information that I was expecting to find like the color. Anyone know if this is unusual?

Welcome from a fellow NC member! Your truck is looking good so far. Even though not much paint was left after the CLR treatment, that is still some top notch patina! I've noticed that the patina is either take it or leave it here on the forum, but out in the real world it always draws a crowd, and of course the occasional "When are you going to paint it?". I'm in for progress.
