2004 Power Window Switches?
My power window switches on the driver's door are getting balky. It is safe to spray some (small amount) of electrical contact cleaner into them? Assuming I can get to them.

yes. you can disassemble the door switch from the part that is installed in the door panel and you can actually get the rocker switch toggles (the part you touch) off the switches and access the contacts directly.

I'm also now thinking that the glass needs some silicone spray and the side edges to give them some easier gliding in the channels. Might try that as well

Re: 2004 Power Window Switches?
do not silicone the side edges!!! you will just make a mess. the glass slides in a FELT channel and you will just make a greasy smear that will never go away.
If you take the door panel off you can silicone lube the SLIDER that is horizontal at the bottom of the glass where the little sliders slide in the channel. but these trucks also have a problem with the window regulators that makes the glass just slow and the regulators are pure $#!T. but they are not stupid expensive and are fairly easy to replace. -Izzy

AND since you mention it.
I wonder if your switches are not the problem, but maybe just the regulator(s) are just getting old and slow. I have one truck that the windows roll up uber slow and one truck where if i dont help the glass up while pressing the switch it only goes up about half way.

Re: 2004 Power Window Switches?
Izzy, good tips. I won't silicone the glass edges. I'll take a look under the door card and lube the slider.
