is this y my trans doesnt shift right

ok ive been looking at stuff to remove cause im bored and certain things were stressing me out so i went and started on the project. but is this why there is hardly any vaccum. it shifts into 3rd anywhere from 20 when its cold to 30 even when its warmed up and i floor it? any recomendations as to what i do?

Not sure if it's why your tranny is shifting too fast. I know on my TH350, it wouldn't shift OUT of first when the hose wasn't hooked up.

By all means, though, fix that. It can't be doing your carb any good.

it shifted just fine before the engine swap, and the guy put that in there the 2 vaccum lines that run off it goto the a/c that im ripping out btw lol

Is it even screwed into the manifold? Looks like it's just sitting on there to me.

The line to your vacuum modulator should be plumbed into the manifold. It sounds like the hose was routed incorrectly when the engine was replaced and you have no vacuum to the tranny anymore.

To me, it looks horribly cross-threaded. When you have someone behind the wrenches who's a bit "ham handed" it can happen...especially in alluminum. Get the vacuum tee fixed and reconnect the modulator valve line.

If the threads are stripped you will have to retapp it. I would not do it on the truck as scraps of metal may get into the intake.

The rubber hose for the modulator valve looks pinched in half and not getting any vacuum. If the threads are stripped I would let the person that installed the engine know about it. Hopefully its not stripped and will thread like its supposed to and fix the problem.

If you rethread it its going to be like 30.00 to fix it. Thats for the drill bit size, heil coils, tap, installer. If you have to pull the intake you will need those gaskets a distributor wrench and a timing light. Compressed air would be nice but a shop vac will work and if nothing else rinse it out a couple of times with water.

ps: Take a wire brush or wire wheel to the vacuum adaptor threads to clean all the crud out of the treads. Make sure to use some type of lightweight oil or wd-40 when you tap the threads if need be.
